Hey Skid,
I have bought a new 2000 mah 7.2 battery, I have an old fast charger (30 mins).
How long do you think I should charge the battery for to get the maximum charge time?

The wise one answers:
Well if you know the charge rate (Amps) then it's a question of dividing one by the other. If it was say a 5A charge rate then then your new battery would need 2A for 1 hour = 2000mah to charge from flat. So a charge rate of 5A should take it around 24 mins. It sounds to me though that your old charger is not pushing 5A though so the best way is to divide the capacity of your new battery by the old one and then multiply that by 30 mins. Sounds complicated but if your old one was 1200 mah then the new charge time would be:
2000 / 1200 x 30 = 49 mins.
If you find the battery getting hot then stop the charge at that point. As soon as they are getting warm they're ready and charged. |
