Is it possible to fit 12mm Hex Wheels to an OG Hilux? Still retaining the Original Axles.

The wise one answers:
I think it's very unlikely because the 3 speed wheels don't bolt on with a single nut as with modern wheels. This means that the axles don't have a threaded end on them to go through the hex. They're also not cross drilled for a pin style drive in the hex or splined. I'd never say never as you could potentially machine a hub to accept a hex but this wouldn't be straight forward, especially with stock axles. It would probably be easier to actually drill the modern wheels to mount onto the standard Hilux hubs using the normal bolts (like a real car). |
