Question: hey guys .. rough rider release question ;) checked the manual and wonder what motors could be fit into that car. how is the motor mounted to the gearbox ? sport tuned may be a bit to slow, .. so i was thinking of a slow brushless setup with 5 cells. (9.5/10.5/13.5 turn brushless with 5 cells). if running lipos ;) do u guys know if saddle packs can be fitted into that rc box ? is heat a problem in that fully closed rc box ? front supsension use ball on the lower arm with damper mounted on the same -> is this a problem ? do the balls tend to flip out ? ok thx ! :) i dont want a super fast buggy, but it should run @ a decent speed =)

What grrrreat newsh! The 'Rough Rider' lives again!! FANTASHTIC!!!!

We will have to see what motors will fit in the new car. The old gearbox's were a pain sometimes regards fitting modern motors, that's why the 'standard motor can' layout was good to use. It fit straight in, well most of the time. The black motors (sport tuned) were perfect for this.

Brushless? You must be crazy! But maybe a good idea if the motor size is smaller, if it has the same sized two mounting holes. Heat will always be a major problem in an enclosed plastic box. REMEMBER, the idea and layout was not designed for modern bateries and quick motors back in 1979. It was designed so you could go through all those lovely puddles.. Well most of the time anyway.
