Question: I have a gravelhound with a hellfire 24 turn motor and a 4600 venom battery will changing the spur gear make it faster if so what spur gear should I use?

The wise one answers:

Yes in theory, a bigger spur gear will create less top speed and more torque and vice versa. Pinion gear size is the opposite so a smaller pinion will create less top speed. Remember though that top speed comes at the expense of acceleration and a hot motor with less turns will have less torque than higher turn motors and is easier to "overgear" when this happens changing to a bigger spur and/or smaller pinion will actually make your car go better and last longer because it can rev harder and is no overcome by the gearing of the car! And breathe....
