I have a tl-01 with a sports turned taming motor and I bought it a nice set of 5.5 inch wheels to go off road. After 1 minute of bliss, smoke started bellowing out of my esc.
What replacement would you recommend. Or do i up it to a brushless and which one. Will the gear box take it. Like yer pants doc.

Gosh thanks! Shame to see smoke when you were having such fun! If the wheels are genuinely this size then gearing is your problem and all you can really do is use the smallest possible pinion. The gearboxes on these will tolerate some stick but i wouldn't go brushless |
