Professor Skid has answered...

Question: Oh hai Professor Skid, while I am painting the jerry cans of my Holiday Buggy 2010 using Tamiya XF-paint, I wondered how to get a nice finish for flat colored surfaces. Will simple wet sanding work? Do such surfaces benefit from any other finishing afterwards (like it is advised for glossy painted hardbodies), or is the paint itself all right? Cheers

The wise one answers:

Flat coloured paint doesn't need any after work although if you wanted to it could be turned into a gloss finish with laquer. If you want a nice finish with flat paint it is far better sprayed on.
