Question: Professor, as far as Lipo batteries go, is there a specific manufacturer you would reccomend as far quality and reliability goes? I want a 7.4v and there are quite a few brands out there on ebay!

The wise one answers:

Well there are many pretenders in this arena. I would stick the known brands like Orion or LRP, you're looking for a good "C" rating which is the ability for the pack to deliver it's current and gives the power. If you want me to get technical a pack of 25C will deliver 25 x it's capacity in instant current. So a 2000 mAH would delivery 50A of current in theory and should give you more punch than a pack of say 20C. With all battery packs you generally get what you pay for and in opinion it's a false economy to buy cheap because you just end up throwing them away sooner.
