Hi Prof, Do you know if coloured aluminium parts are able to be stripped so they are just chrome? If so how do I do it.
Cheers. |

The wise one answers:
The coloured effect is created by anodising which is a surface treatment. To get rid of it you have to sand or machine the surface and it won't be easy on intricate parts. You're then left with bare aluminium which can be polished but this will only leave you with a polished finish that dulls quite easily and will need maintenance. Chrome plating is a completely different plating process. |
