Skid, I'm not sure about gearing ratios! Is it correct that a larger pinion and smaller spur means more top speed? Cheers. |

The wise one answers:
That's correct. It's the ratio of spur to pinion, if the spur is 75T and the pinion is say 15T then the ratio would be 5:1. Make that ratio larger with a bigger spur and/or smaller pinion and you get less top speed and more acceleration. The opposite is true if you make the ratio smaller with bigger pinion and/or smaller spur. |
