Note that as far as I can see, this is the first car that is described on the box as being a 'Radio-Controlled Car', rather than a car 'Suitable For Radio Control'. I think up until this point, Tamiya had in many ways been making plastic kits you could put a motor and servos in. From here on, they were building radio-controlled cars with scale shells on.
It's interesting that the next model in the list is the Holiday Buggy, which as far as I'm aware was never intended to be a scale model at all, but was purely a model for racing and playing with.
