Thanks for the compliments. Yes a modern 540 sized brushless system will fit in most of the old cars but bear in mind often the gearboxes won't tolerate it! Everyone seems speed mad but really your reason for a brushless in a vintage model should be reliability, go for a mild sport brushless system if you have to. You can buy them almost everywhere that sells rc car parts/kits etc.
