Professor Skid has answered...

Question: Skid, in the Tamiya line up the Supershot comes before the Hotshot II! So, why did Tamiya go to all that trouble with the Supershot making it the top of the line up and then go back with the Hotshot II? Or have I missed something? Cheers

The wise one answers:

It's a good question, Tamiya have always seemed to be hell bent on releasing as many new models as then can. I think the Hotshot II was a simple and quick re-hash of the Hotshot to get another model out the door. It was also aimed at a different area of the market being a more entry level model than the Supershot and cheaper. In my opinion it came too late and everyone else had really move on.
