Question: Hello Prof., I bought a used Blackfoot, took it apart, cleaned all parts and build it together again. Also put on a new paint-job. What is the best Damper-configuration? At the moment I use the CVA short shock unit set II, all dampers are 80mm. The front ones are soft, the rear ones are medium. But it looks strange as the Blackfoot has a little sag at the back, is that normal? Thanks in advance. Best Regards and keep up your great work. Marcel

The wise one answers:

Yes that's normal, the Blackfoot does tend to look low at the back especially under acceleration. You can of course use stronger springs. The same springs as the front will have less effect due to the leverage of the rear trailing arm setup so beef up the rear springs. I tend to keep the rear end of the Blackfoot stock because i actually like the bouncy characteristics of the friction dampers, kind of suits the Blackfoot in my mind.
