Hi prof I've built a Frog to original spec but the gearbox is very tight, only fix I have is to loosen the nuts on the case. Any ideas ? |

The wise one answers:
It depends how tight, they do work loose as the bevel gears wear a little and under load the gearbox halves do tend to flex out. It may not be an issue but if you don't feel that it's right you can file the outer edges of the large bevel gears down a little to create clearance. I would not loosen the gearbox plates though because they will probably work themselves completely loose. |
