Hi skid i am restoring a sand rover never had won before its going to be run i have made a alloy U shaped brace that goes straight across the front between the front suspension from won side to the other on the top!! hope you get what i mean i have seen lots of cars on ebay and all seen to have broken strut tops do you think what i have done will stop this if not any ideas how to stop this happening? the tub i have is mint it will only really have light running and a trip to the beach on my holls in a bit cheers Skid |

Yes it's very common as it's a known weak point. Should be ok as long as your strengthen around the hole. Bracing from hole to hole across the car helps as it prevent flex but really the weakness is where the suspension rods go through and how close these holes are to the edge. |
