| Question: |
I have a Tamiya Super Champ that I am restoring. I have managed to repair most of the body but the roll cage is giving me troubles. Basically I need to replace the whole thing. What’s the best way to rebuild a roll cage and seamlessly attach it to the existing body? I would also like it to be fairly strong if possible. Was thinking of making an aluminium Roll cage but how would I attach it? Any words of advice? |

The wise one answers:
It depends if you need loads of strength for running. If not then i would certainly stick with ABS, you should be able to glue it together, you can also drill small holes into each piece through the end of the bar and insert some wire then glue and this will hold it well. You can use the same technique for alloy but it's hard to drill down through the bar straight, it can be done though |
