If you been following our blog you'll know that I wasn't a fan of the new 2010 Holiday Buggy when I saw it but I do have a huge soft spot for the HB as it was my first ever RC buggy. I own a vintage runner but am the first to admit that they don't run very well, fragile and the handling is interesting to say the least.
The concept of a HB on a modern chassis was welcomed but I just wish Tamiya had paid more attention to the scale looks. So my BUY IT NOW finger got the better of me and I set myself the mission of creating a DT-02 Re-release Holiday Buggy, 101 style!
A full article will follow but what you see here is my version using various modifications to lower the body, allow the vintage wheels/tyres to fit straight on but more importantly to narrow the track so the wheels tuck under the arches as they should. The width front and rear is identical to the original car. I hope you like it, i'm very pleased with the result.
